Kenny Arena is now in his fourth year on the LAFC coaching staff. Bringing over 15 years of coaching experience to the Black & Gold, Arena helped lead LAFC to the 2019 Supporter’s Shield and one of the best expansion seasons in MLS history in 2018.

A Virginia native, Arena joined LAFC in 2018 after serving as an Assistant Coach with the U.S. Men’s National Team. Prior to joining the National Team, Arena was an Assistant Coach with the L.A. Galaxy (2014-2016), winning an MLS Cup in 2014.

A former player at the University of Virginia and with the MetroStars and D.C. United in MLS, Arena was a head coach for Florida International University for two seasons beginning in 2012. He led the Panthers to an 8-8-2 record in his first season at the helm, giving them their most wins in a single season since 2005.

Following his playing career, Arena began his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Virginia in 2006 and then joined the staff at George Mason University in 2007. Arena spent four seasons as an assistant coach at UCLA. During his time at UCLA, Arena also served as the head coach of the L.A. Galaxy Academy U-16 team, winning the DA National Championship and Generation adidas Cup in 2011 - the first titles in the history of the Galaxy’s Academy.

Arena holds a U.S. Soccer Pro Coaching License.
