LAFC has signed forward Tommy Mihalić from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate LAFC2 to a contract that runs through the remainder of 2026 with options for 2027 and 2028.
Mihalić originally joined the Black & Gold in 2025 and started 25 of LAFC2’s 28 matches, including both of the team’s U.S. Open Cup matches. Overall, the 5-foot-11 forward tallied 10 goals and five assists across 2,302 minutes in all competitions during his first season with the club. In 2026, Mihalić has continued to display his scoring prowess with seven goals and one assist through 19 MLS NEXT Pro matches. He recently made his first-team MLS debut after joining the team on a short-term loan on August 19 against the Colorado Rapids, coming on as a late substitute.
Previously, the Skokie, Illinois, native played four seasons from 2021-2024 at Indiana University where he helped the Hoosiers win the Big Ten Tournament Championship in 2023. He was also named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in 2024, along with being named to the All-Big Ten first-team in 2024, second-team All-Big Ten in 2022, and the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2021.
Prior to his collegiate career, Mihalić made four appearances for FC Augsburg’s U-19 team in Germany. Internationally, he has represented Croatia at the U-15 and U-17 levels.
