LAFC2 has signed defender Virgilio Olaya from Ecuadorian Serie A club S.D. Aucas through June 2030. Olaya will immediately join LAFC2 players Matt Evans and Adrian Wibowo on loan at FC Wacker Innsbruck.
Beginning in the 2025 season, the 18-year-old defender has made eight appearances to date for Aucas in the LigaPro Serie A – Ecuador’s top professional league. Across all competitions, Olaya has registered 10 appearances and 416 minutes played, making valuable contributions at the senior level. On the international stage, Olaya has represented Ecuador at the U-15 and U-17 levels.
S.D. Aucas joined Red&Gold Football, a joint venture between Los Angeles Football Club and FC Bayern München, in December 2025 with the aim of opening pathways and creating opportunities for Ecuador’s most promising young players to reach top European leagues and Major League Soccer (MLS). Olaya is the first player from Aucas to join LAFC’s player pathway as part of Red&Gold Football’s integrated, unique global platform that supports players’ athletic and personal development.
