LAFC2 played to a 0-0 draw in regulation time against The Town FC in MLS NEXT Pro league action at St. Mary’s Stadium in Moraga, CA.
LAFC2 and The Town closed out the first 45 minutes scoreless after an open first half, however neither side had any clear chances at goal.
In the second half, LAFC2 forward Adrian Wibowo had a near miss, striking the post in the 77th minute. Regulation time ended with the score still nil-nil, which meant that a penalty shootout would determine who would take the extra point.
Each goalkeeper saved one shot during the first six kicks. In the end, The Town’s keeper, Emmanuel Ochoa, denied Christopher Jaime’s attempt in the seventh round to secure the point for the hosts.
LAFC2 is now 5-2-2 and stands in third place in the West, with 18 points through its first nine matches. Next, LAFC2 will travel to face Austin FC II on Friday, May 24, at Parmer Field. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
