LAFC2 extended its home unbeaten streak to nine straight matches without a defeat, settling for a 0-0 draw with Timbers2 on Saturday at USC’s Rawlinson Stadium. The visitors from Portland, Oregon, secured the extra point with a 4-2 victory in the postgame penalty shootout.
The Black & Gold created the better opportunities early on, with captain Tommy Mihalić and Liam Lambert each forcing saves from Timbers2 goalkeeper Sam Joseph in the opening half. LAFC2 continued to threaten after halftime, as Ernesto Rodriguez tested Joseph twice in the opening minutes after the break.
Timbers2 generated several chances of its own, but Ethan Scally kept the visitors off the scoresheet with four saves. Scally's stops included a pair of second-half saves against Daniel Cervantes and another on Charles Ondo as LAFC2 recorded its second clean sheet in its last three matches. Neither side found a breakthrough in regulation, sending Saturday's match to a penalty shootout, with Timbers2 prevailing 4-2 to earn the extra point.
The result moved the Black & Gold to 29 points through 17 matches, keeping the club in sixth place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference standings. LAFC2 has not lost in its last nine matches at Rawlinson, going 6W-0L-3D in that span and outscoring visitors 17-9. Overall, LAFC2 is 6W-1L-5D at Rawlinson Stadium in 2026.
