LAFC2 returned to winning form on Wednesday night with a 1-0 victory over MNUFC2 at USC’s Rawlinson Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Black & Gold broke through in the 66th minute when DeCarlo Guerra converted from the penalty spot for the game’s only goal. LAFC2 controlled much of the match, outshooting MNUFC2 19-7 and holding the visitors without a shot on target. The Black & Gold put seven shots on frame and forced six saves from MNUFC2 goalkeeper Kristers Bite, while LAFC keeper Cabral Carter was not called upon to make a save.
The Black & Gold created a number of chances before and after Guerra’s winner. Tommy Mihalić, Sebastian Nava, Ernesto Rodriguez, and Marius Aiyenero all tested the MNUFC2 back line, but Guerra’s penalty proved to be enough to secure all three points at home.
LAFC2 returns to action on Sunday, June 28, when the club hosts Houston Dynamo 2 at USC’s Rawlinson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., and the match will be available on MLSNEXTPro.com.
