LAFC2 was defeated 3-2 by the Tacoma Defiance in a tightly contested Sunday afternoon match at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, CA on Sunday.
Snyder Brunell opened the scoring for Defiance in the 40th minute with Jackson Khoury doubling the visitors’ lead just before halftime in the 45th.
Tommy Mihalić cut the deficit for the Black & Gold in the 70th minute with his third goal of the season, and James Lane pulled LAFC2 level in the 79th with his first strike for the club.
But the comeback was short-lived as Danny Robles netted the go-ahead goal for Defiance in the 83rd minute to seal a dramatic win for the visitors.
The Black & Gold is now 5W-7L-2D (18 points) and next takes on Austin FC II at Parmer Field in Austin, Texas on Friday, July 4. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. PT and can be streamed on Apple TV – MLS Season Pass.
