2017-18 (Queens Park Rangers, Championship):  

  • Started two EFL Cup appearances, adding one assist.   

2016-17 (Queens Park Rangers, Championship):  

  • Started four of six appearances and made an assist for a total of 427 minutes played across all competitions. 

  • Made his senior debut on September 21, 2016 in the 2-1 loss against Sunderland during third stage of the EFL Cup.  

2015-16 (Queens Park Rangers, Championship): 

  • Was a regular for the U-21 squad, making 12 appearances.   

2014 – 15 (Queens Park Rangers, Championship / Dagenham & Redbridge FC, National League (English Fifth Tier): 

  • Signed to QPR on two-year deal on September 18 2014, loaned to Dagenham & Redbridge FC where he started one of two appearances.  




  • Started and made senior national team debut for Finland during an international friendly against Estonia on January 11, 2019. 

  • Has had call ups for the U-18, U-19, and U-21 teams for Finland. 

  • Appeared in 12 matches for the U-23 team, nine of which were for thre UEFA European U-21 Championship qualifications.  

  • Logged two starts in two appearances for the U-19 squat during the group stage matches of the EUFA Euro U-19 Championship. 



  • Born and raised in the U.S., his father, Timo Hämäläinen is a Finnish former professional soccer player.   

  • Niko started his youth career in the U.S. with the FC Florida and FC Dallas’ youth academy systems.  

  • Was recommended to QPR by former Rangers defender David Bardsley, who was running football schools in Florida.
