Contactless Tickets FAQ

What is a Contactless ticket and how does it work?

Contactless tickets are similar to traditional event tickets for Apple Wallet, but they are faster, easier to use, and more secure. You don’t need to show a barcode, and your ticket can even be automatically selected by the scanning device.

First, you need to add your contactless ticket to your Apple Wallet. Then when you arrive at the gate it is as simple as tap-and-go by holding the top of your iPhone or the display of your Apple Watch near the reader. See below for more information.

Can I still use my paper ticket?

Yes - your contactless ticket and paper ticket contain the same credentials. You choose which one to use, but once either is scanned, the other will no longer be valid.

Can I still use My Tickets in the LAFC app?

Yes - your contactless ticket and mobile app tickets contain the same credentials. You choose which one to use, but once either is scanned, the other will no longer be valid.

Should I upgrade to iOS 12 before using contactless tickets?

For the best experience and to benefit from express ticket mode, you should consider upgrading to iOS 12. Express mode for tickets is especially useful when you have multiple tickets in Wallet. However, contactless tickets will work fine on iOS 11.

How do I add Contactless tickets to Apple Wallet?

You will receive an email from club@lafc.com. Open the email on your iPhone and use the “Add to Apple Wallet” button and follow the simple flow. Once in Wallet, your ticket will become available on other iOS devices if you have enabled Wallet in your iCloud settings.

Once in Wallet, how is my season membership ticket different from a single match ticket?

You only need to add a season ticket to Wallet one time. It will be automatically updated for you after each match. To make sure this works, it’s important to keep Automatic Updates enabled on your contactless ticket settings.
