LAFC2 suffered a second consecutive defeat on Wednesday night, falling 3-0 to Portland Timbers2 at Providence Park.
The home side struck early with Gage Guerra finding the back of the net in the 13th minute when he connected with a well-placed cross from Daniel Núñez. Portland doubled its advantage in the 34th minute courtesy of a goal from Kyle Linhares.
Despite controlling possession with a 54-46 edge, the Black & Gold was unable to capitalize on its chances, and Reo Griffiths capped off the scoring for Timbers2 in the 70th minute.
LAFC2 is 3W-4L-2D (12 points) on the season and next takes on Sporting Kansas City II at Swope Park on Friday, May 23. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. PT and can be streamed on MLSNEXTPRO.com.
