LAFC2 played Ventura County Football Club to a 3-3 draw on Sunday evening at William Rolland Stadium in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Ventura County took an early lead with Dylan Vanney’s goal in the 2nd minute. LAFC2 quickly responded with Jude Terry scoring his first goal of the season in the 9th minute to make it 1-1. Tommy Mihalic then put the Black & Gold ahead in the 34th minute with his fifth goal of the season.
Former LAFC2 player Nicklaus Sullivan leveled the score for Ventura County in the 51st minute, and Harbor Miller put the home side ahead with a goal in the 63rd. LAFC2 responded in stoppage time with DeCarlo Guerra netting a late equalizer to make it 3-3.
The match then went to a penalty shootout per MLS NEXT Pro rules, where LAFC2 secured the extra point with a 3-1 win over the Galaxy affiliates.
The Black & Gold improves to 6W-8L-3D (23 points) and next takes on Sporting Kansas City II at Titan Stadium on Sunday, July 27. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT and can be streamed on MLSNEXTPro.com
