Fabian Sandoval
HEAD COACH
Sandoval was named head coach of LAFC2 ahead of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season. He began coaching with LAFC2 as an assistant at the beginning of the 2024 season, bringing with him over 15 years of coaching experience. He holds a USSF ‘A’ License and has a background in scouting and game analysis. Sandoval also brings playing experience at the collegiate level with CSU Bakersfield and was a professional player in the USL with Miami FC and the San Diego Gauchos.

Sandoval first joined LAFC in 2017, helping set the foundation that launched the LAFC Academy by serving as assistant coach for the club’s first U-12 team. Sandoval then led the U-17 team while continuing his role of identifying potential Academy prospects. Sandoval also helped lead the LAFC Academy U-13 team to the 2018 Concacaf Champions League title and more recently guided the team to a third-place finish in the 2023 Generation Adidas Cup. 

Sandoval’s in-depth knowledge of the Southern California youth soccer landscape has played a key role in the club’s efforts to identify and develop talent for the LAFC Academy. Sandoval was instrumental in the development of Academy graduates such as Erik Dueñas, Christian Torres, Tony Leone, and Nathan Ordaz.

Alejandro Guido
ASSISTANT COACH
Guido, 31, joined LAFC2's Technical Staff in 2026 while also serving as head coach of the LAFC Academy U-18 team, a position he began in July 2025. He holds an A Senior coaching license from U.S. Soccer and a Pro License from the Federación Mexicana de Futbol.

Before joining LAFC, Guido served as an assistant coach for FC Cincinnati 2 and IDP coach for the Ohio club. He began his coaching journey when he initially signed with FC Cincinnati 2 as a player-coach in January of 2024 and previously served as a talent scout for U.S. Soccer.  

An accomplished professional player, Guido spent three seasons with the San Diego Loyal of the USL Championship from 2021-2023. He made 100 appearances for the club and led the Loyal to three consecutive appearances in the USL Championship Playoffs. 

Guido tallied 13 goals and 13 assists over his Loyal career and logged over 6,500 minutes across all competitions, beginning in 2020 with his arrival on loan from LAFC. In the five matches played on loan, Guido scored 2 goals and tallied 2 assists in just under 300 minutes. 

The Chula Vista, California native began his professional playing career with Liga MX side Club Tijuana in 2012 after moving through the club’s youth system and making his debut in a 2-1 win over Celaya FC. With Tijuana’s first team, Guido made 56 appearances over seven years while spending the 2013-2014 season on loan with Dorados de Sinaloia. 

Following his time with Tijuana, Guido signed with LAFC, where he was a part of the matchday roster across numerous competitions, including the MLS regular season and the Concacaf Champions Cup (2019). 

On the international stage, Guido represented the United States at the U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels and earned his first senior USMNT camp call-up in 2018. Guido scored four goals for the Stars and Stripes’ youth teams in 50 matches and made four appearances in the 2011 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Mexico.

Claine Plummer LAFC2 coach

Claine Plummer
ASSISTANT & GOALKEEPING COACH
Plummer joined LAFC2's Technical Staff beginning with the 2024 MLS Next Pro season with three decades of coaching experience across the development, collegiate, and professional levels. Plummer holds an Advance National Goalkeeper Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and is a NSCAA National Coaching Instructor.

A native of Costa Rica, Plummer has served as an assistant and goalkeeping coach at various MLS clubs like LA Galaxy (2005-2006), Chivas USA (2010-2015), Real Salt Lake Academy (2015-2016), and LA Galaxy II (2016-2022). At the international level, Plummer served as the Goalkeeper Coach for the Jamaican Men’s National Team (2015-2017), the U.S. National Team U-14 and U-19, and has served as a goalkeeping instructor for FIFA and CONCACAF since 2016.

Plummer’s coaching experience includes 13-years coaching the men’s and women’s programs at Occidental College (2003-2007), UCLA women (2006-2008), the men’s and women’s programs at Cal State Los Angeles (2009-2013), and most recently at the University of Santa Barbara (2023).

Plummer also brings over 14 years of playing experience as a goalkeeper, having played in Costa Rica at Limon FC and has represented the Limon State Team and Costa Rican National Team at the U-19 and U-23 levels from 1988-1999.
