Approximately 500 students received three new high-quality books, specific to their learning level, plus LAFC promo items including stickers, branded face masks and more in a drive-through, social-distanced format at the Stoner Elementary School campus. Additionally, Club partner University of Phoenix, provided each student with a copy of their self-published book, The Dragon Who Learned to Fly.

The effort is in partnership with Access Books, a local non-profit that provides quality books to public school and community libraries where the majority of students live at or below the poverty line. Since 1999, with the help of volunteers, the organization has refurbished over 300 libraries and donated 1.8 million books. In response to school closures caused by the pandemic and to uplift Los Angeles’ most vulnerable girls and boys, Access Books has distributed one-hundred thousand books to underserved public schools, communities and foster care centers.
