LAFC and Real Salt Lake will be meeting for the fifth time in regular season play. The Black & Gold have a perfect 4-0-0 record against their Western Conference rivals, including a pair of victories at Rio Tinto Stadium, most recently a 2-0 win on August 17, 2019.The two sides have also met during the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs and the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. RSL earned a 3-2 win in the Knockout Round of the 2018 postseason on November 1, 2018 to earn its first-ever win over LAFC. A year later, LAFC would down Real Salt Lake 3-0 in the Fourth Round of the USOC at Rio Tinto Stadium.
