LAFC To Play Sacramento Republic FC In Preseason

The Los Angeles Football Club announced today that the club will play Sacramento Republic FC in a preseason friendly match in February, 2018 at Papa Murphy’s Park in Sacramento.


LAFC kicks-off its inaugural MLS season in March, 2018 and will begin pre-season training in January. The exact date of the game vs. Sacramento Republic FC and the remainder of LAFC’s preseason schedule will be announced at a later date. Sacramento Republic FC is a team in the United Soccer League and was recently named one of four finalist cities being considered for MLS expansion rights.


“We have taken notice of the on and off-field success of Sacramento Republic FC and look forward to an important match for us in preparation for our opening season.” said LAFC General Manager and Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations John Thorrington.


LAFC is led by former U.S. National Team head coach Bob Bradley, and features dynamic Mexican International attacker Carlos Vela and Egyptian National Team defender Omar Gaber on its roster. The club will take part in the 2017 MLS Expansion Draft on Tuesday, December 12.
