LAFC battled to a 1-1 draw against the Portland Timbers on Saturday night at BMO Stadium. The result broke LAFC's two-match losing streak in league play and keeps the club in third place in the Western Conference with 35 points.
Portland struck early when David Da Costa found the back of the net in the 4th minute. LAFC chased an equalizer for much of the match before finally breaking through in the 79th minute when Denis Bouanga scored a goal to level the score, 1-1. The Timbers were forced to finish the game with ten men after Vincent Janssen received his second yellow card and was sent off in second-half stoppage time.
LAFC returns to action on Saturday, August 29, when the club faces D.C. United at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The match is scheduled to kick off at 4:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on Apple TV, with local radio coverage on 710 AM ESPN, the ESPN LA app, KYPA 1230 AM (Korean), and 980 AM La Mera Mera (Spanish).
