LAFC came back from a two-goal deficit to draw with San Diego FC, 2-2, at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, Calif. LAFC now stands at 6W-2L-3D on the season for 21 points, while SDFC falls to 3W-5L-3D.

Managing players’ minutes ahead of Wednesday’s Concacaf Semifinal match in Mexico, LAFC head coach Marc Dos Santos made nine changes to the starting eleven that had taken the field in a midweek win over Toluca, with young players Nathan Ordaz, Jude Terry, and Kenny Nielsen taking the field with a veteran side that included Hugo Lloris in goal.

San Diego striker Marcus Ingvartsen opened the scoring in the seventh minute, heading an Anders Dreyer corner kick past Lloris with help from a deflection off of LAFC centerback Eddie Segura.

Ingvartsen scored again in the 71st minute on an assist from Dreyer in transition.

Denis Bouanga pulled one back for LAFC in the 82nd minute, finishing a pass from second-half substitute Son Heung-Min at a difficult angle to make the score 2-1. It was Bouanga’s fifth goal of the season and Son’s league-leading eighth assist and his 15th in all competitions.

LAFC played in San Diego’s half for most of the rest of the match, and was finally rewarded when a David Martínez corner kick at the 90'+14-minute mark was finished by Ryan Hollingshead amid a crowded six-yard box, completing the scoring and securing a point for the visitors.

Next up for LAFC is a trip to Toluca, Mexico, to face Deportivo Toluca F.C. of Liga MX in the second leg of their two-game Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinal. LAFC holds a 2-1 lead on aggregate goals headed into the decisive match, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, May 6, at Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca, and will be broadcast live on FS1 and TUDN, with local radio coverage on ESPN LA 710 AM, the ESPN LA app, KFWB La Mera Mera 980 AM (Spanish), and K-Radio 1230 AM (Korean).

LAFC returns to MLS regular-season action on Sunday, May 10, when it hosts Houston Dynamo FC at BMO Stadium at 6:00 p.m. PT. All MLS matches are broadcast live on Apple TV, with local radio coverage the same as above.
