Recap | Toluca 4(5) – 0(2) LAFC | Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinals - Leg Two

LAFC was eliminated from the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup on Wednesday night, falling 4-0 to Deportivo Toluca F.C. of Liga MX in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinals at Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca, Mexico. The result completed a 5-2 aggregate-goals victory for Toluca over the Semifinal’s two legs.

After a scoreless first half, the home side opened the scoring with a 49th-minute penalty kick by Helinho that gave Toluca a 1-0 lead on the night and tied matters 2-2 on aggregate. Toluca added a goal in the 58th minute with a blast from distance by Everardo López, providing an aggregate lead of 3-2.

LAFC finished the match with 10 men after centerback Ryan Porteous was shown a red card in the 86th minute. Toluca striker Paulinho finished the scoring with two goals in stoppage time to complete the Red Devils’ 5-2 victory on aggregate and send them to the sixth Champions Cup Final in their history. 

LAFC returns to MLS action this weekend when it hosts Houston Dynamo FC on Sunday, May 10, at BMO Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PT. All MLS matches are broadcast live on Apple TV, with local radio coverage on ESPN LA 710 AM, the ESPN LA app, KFWB La Mera Mera 980 AM (Spanish), and K-Radio 1230 AM (Korean).
