LAFC was eliminated from the 2022 U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, falling 3-1 to LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA.

Carlos Vela was subbed out due to an injury in the 20th minute, and LAFC lost another starter to injury before halftime when Diego Palacios left after a hard collision.  

The Galaxy got goals from Kévin Cabral (51’), Javier Hernandez (57’) and Dejan Joveljić (81’) to go up 3-0 before Ryan Hollingshead scored in the 85th minute for LAFC to make it 3-1.

The Black & Gold will be back in action on Saturday, May 28 when they host the San Jose Earthquakes. That game kicks off at 3:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast nationally on UniMás, TUDN, Twitter (English audio) and locally on ESPN 710 AM, ESPN LA App, and 980 AM La Mera La Mera.
