LAFC PICKS IN 2021 MLS SUPERDRAFT

LAFC selected three players in the MLS SuperDraft 2021 presented by adidas. The Black & Gold picked forward Daniel Trejo in the first round (#14 overall), defender CC Uche in the second round (#41 overall) and forward Alvaro Quezada in the third round (#68 overall).

Trejo, 22, is a Mendota, CA, native and played three years at Cal State, Northridge, tallying 26 goals and 15 assists in 58 matches (57 starts) for the Matadors. As a junior in 2019, Trejo was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Year, Second Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference after finishing tied for first in the league with nine goals. He was also one of 40 players selected to play in the inaugural adidas MLS College Showcase in December 2019.

In his first year with CSUN in 2017, Trejo was selected to the Big West All-Freshman Team after appearing in 21 matches and adding seven goals and three assists in 1,328 minutes. In 2018, he was chosen to the Second Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference after posting career-highs in goals (10) and shots (59).

Uche, a 6-foot-1 defender split his collegiate career between Duke University (2016-17) and Ohio State University (2018-19). While at Duke, Uche appeared in 18 matches, including all 17 games during his first year in 2016. Following his sophomore campaign, Uche transferred to OSU and went on to start all 22 games he appeared in for the Buckeyes, including 18 contests as a junior.

Quezada, a forward from Lancaster, CA, played at UC Irvine from 2017-19. He posted a breakout season as a sophomore in 2018, registering career-highs in games (21), games started (20), goals (5), assists (6), and minutes (1,642). In three years at UCI, Quezada finished with eight goals and nine assists in 56 games (40 starts).
