September was a month full of connection, celebration, and community impact. From honoring our local heroes at Fire Station 69 to unveiling new futsal courts with our partners, to hosting unforgettable experiences for students, and wrapping up an incredible Unified season, LAFC continued to bring people together on and off the pitch.

Fire Station 69 DoorDash Dinner
In response to the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles earlier this year, LAFC partnered with DoorDash to host a special community event honoring Pacific Palisades firefighters. This marked our third and final DoorDash dinner for Los Angeles firefighters who have worked tirelessly this year to protect and support our community. At Fire Station 69, we delivered dinner, restocked the kitchen thanks to Melissa’s Produce, and shared a meal with the crew. Also in attendance was LAFC legend and Club Ambassador Carlos Vela, along with his family, making the evening even more memorable.

Kaiser Permanente Futsal Court Unveil
LAFC hosted a ceremony with Kaiser Permanente to celebrate the development of five new futsal courts at LAUSD schools throughout greater Los Angeles. The celebration took place at Young Oak Kim Academy – the site of our first futsal court in Koreatown. The event featured opening remarks from Kaiser Permanente, physician-led warmups, and a series of futsal games for the students.
LAFC x Rams Watch Party Activation
In collaboration with the Los Angeles Rams, we partnered to host a watch party alongside Angel City FC and LA Galaxy in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Local non-profit organizations serving the Hispanic community were invited to spend the afternoon participating in multiple activations and engagement opportunities at the Rams practice facility during the Rams vs. Titans regular season game.

Unified Scrimmage vs. 3252
Our Special Olympics Unified Team wrapped up an incredible season with a final scrimmage against our 3252 supporters. This fun, competitive match resulted in a 5–2 victory for our Unified Team. It was a fantastic way to close out an unforgettable Unified season, which was supported all year by BMO and Special Olympics Southern California. An exciting surprise visit from several LAFC first-team players topped off the afternoon!
Unified End of the Year Banquet
We marked the completion of the Unified season with an End of the Year Banquet. The event consisted of a bowling day where players and families came together to celebrate over pizza and good company. We also recognized the team’s hard work with awards to close out the season on a high note. A huge thank you to our partners at BMO for supporting this incredibly important initiative. We can’t wait for next season!

Drew League at Noche de Carlos Vela
LAFC and Drew League partnered with Metro by T-Mobile as part of their ongoing community efforts. Twenty LAUSD students who attended the first Drew League and LAFC crossover clinic this summer were invited to the Noche de Carlos Vela match against Real Salt Lake on September 21, where they walked on the field pre-match and met Carlos Vela himself. This experience was a highlight and core memory for our kids!

Chevron Futsal Court Unveil
LAFC and Chevron hosted a ceremony to celebrate the unveiling of the new futsal court in the Hawthorne School District at Hawthorne Middle School. This event marked an exciting milestone for the community and included appearances from two of our very own LAFC players, as well as a series of futsal games. Students had the chance to break in the new court with energy and excitement.

MLS STEM Goals Lunch & Learn with Ticketmaster
As part of LAFC’s STEM Goals program, we hosted a Lunch & Learn event at the Ticketmaster offices, where about 50 students toured the workplace, with many experiencing their first field trip. The highlight was an inspiring panel moderated by Learn Fresh CEO Nick Monzi, and featuring Christopher Tweed-Kent, VP of Product at Ticketmaster; LAFC player Sergi Palencia; and LAFC Performance Data Analyst Georgia Kasperowicz. The group shared engaging insights into the intersection of sports and STEM [Science, Tech, Engineering, and Mathematics], sparking curiosity and excitement among the students.

Comic Con
Over 100,000 fans attended L.A. Comic Con 2025 at the Los Angeles Convention Center to celebrate comics, anime, sci-fi, gaming, and more. Highlights included celebrity panels, cosplay competitions, and a vibrant show floor of artists and creators. LAFC had a custom booth featuring giveaways and limited-edition posters. Nkosi Tafari made a special appearance and signed posters and LAFC branded items for fans!
2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Event
The 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Community Event in South Los Angeles brought neighbors together to celebrate the vibrant cultures, contributions, and stories of the Hispanic, Latinx, Indigenous, and Afro-Latinx communities. The day featured live dance performances, family activities, community resources, and plenty of delicious food. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, LAFC joined the festivities by connecting with fans and handing out special giveaways, adding to the energy and spirit of the celebration.
