October was a month full of impact, connection, and unforgettable moments for the Black & Gold. From creating magical memories at our Second Annual Black & Gold Night of Hope to empowering the next generation through STEM education, youth soccer, and career exploration, we continued to make a difference across Los Angeles.
LAFC teamed up with the Los Angeles Rams to host another “Football x Football” youth clinic that brought together the best of both games. Over 300 kids gathered for a match viewing party along with a variety of football activities and celebration.
LAFC hosted its Second Annual Black & Gold Night of Hope, an unforgettable prom experience for teens facing life-limiting medical conditions. The evening began with a full glam experience, including outfit selection, hair and makeup, and suit fittings. LAFC players Tyler Boyd and Cabral Carter joined the celebration, spending time with the teens, posing for photos, and enjoying the festivities.
The night culminated in a magical prom celebration filled with dancing, dinner, and more. With over 80 teens in attendance, this year's event was bigger and more special than the last!
A special thank you to Wish Upon a Teen, El Mexicano ®, BMO, and Zelle for helping bring this incredible evening to life and creating unforgettable moments for these deserving teens.
LAFC teamed up with Habitat for Humanity LA, Chick-fil-A, and Call Jacob for another meaningful day of giving back. Volunteers came together at BMO Stadium to build and decorate custom playhouses, each uniquely designed to bring joy for local children and families. These one-of-a-kind playhouses will be donated to Habitat LA partner families and community organizations serving children in need. A huge thank you to our incredible partners and volunteers for helping bring these special creations to life.
Evolution Physical Therapy (EvoPT) welcomed the LAFC Unified team for a free, sport-specific performance screening designed to help players improve movement, build strength, and stay injury-free. The staff guided participants through drills and athletic checks to provide feedback on how to improve the overall athletic journey and injury prevention techniques for the Unified team.
In partnership with Ticketmaster and Learn Fresh, LAFC hosted the Second Annual MLS STEM Goals Regional Tournament at BMO Stadium, bringing together over 80 students for a day of learning, teamwork, and friendly competition. LAFC player Cabral Carter joined the fun, competing alongside students and engaging with participants throughout the tournament! The day concluded with an awards ceremony, where students received medals and certificates, and everyone came together to celebrate the tournament finalists and their accomplishments.
In partnership with University of Phoenix, LAFC welcomed young adult mentors from City Year Los Angeles to BMO Stadium for a behind-the-scenes experience exploring careers in sports. The group toured the stadium, met LAFC staff, and learned about falconry from LAFC Falconer Jason Miknuk, including a special flight demonstration with Olly the Falcon. Through the LAFC Falcon Scholars Program, participants explored the connection between wildlife, science, and sports. The experience concluded with a Q&A featuring Jackie Klecka, Senior Director of National Events and Partnerships at University of Phoenix, who shared insights into educational opportunities and degree pathways.
