LAFC Acquires $750,000 In Allocation Money & International Slot From Houston Dynamo In Exchange For Forward Corey Baird

LAFC announced today that the Club has acquired $750,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) and a 2022 International Roster Slot from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for forward Corey Baird.

“We appreciate all of Corey’s efforts and contributions throughout his time here at LAFC,” LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington said. “We wish him all the best in Houston.”

Baird, 25, saw action in 13 matches (9 starts) during the 2021 season with LAFC, recording three goals and two assists. Baird joined LAFC on January 11 ahead of the 2021 MLS regular season for $500,000 in GAM from Real Salt Lake.

The 2018 MLS Rookie of the Year with RSL, Baird is an Escondido, CA native and has represented the United States with the U-15, U-17, U-18, U-20 and senior national teams.

General Allocation Money (GAM) is money that is available to a club in addition to its salary budget. Each MLS club receives an annual allotment of GAM. Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) are funds strategically provided by the league to teams to add or retain players that will make an immediate impact on the field.
