After defeating FC Dallas 2-1 on March 25, LAFC hits the road and travels to the Centennial State to face the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, April 1.

The Black & Gold take their undefeated record (3-0-1) into Dick’s Sporting Goods Park where they look to stay close to the blistering pace set by expansion team St. Louis City SC, who have taken the league by storm and remain a perfect 5-0-0 so far in 2023.

Seven of the eight games between the Rapids and LAFC have been won by the home team, with LAFC having the only road win in 2018.

The Rapids are coming off a tough game against Austin FC where they were able to steal a point late in the game with a goal from forward Kevin Cabral that led to a 1-1 draw.

COLORADO RAPIDS IN-DEPTH

Led by head coach Robin Fraser, the Rapids are off to a slow start in 2023 after missing the playoffs in 2022 as they look to regain the form that saw them finish first in the West in 2021.

This season, Colorado is sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference Standings with only two points, but the Rapids remain a threat.

Forward Michael Barrios has been a bright spot for the club, registering 13 assists and 10 goals for the Rapids since 2021, including both assists for the only two Rapids goals this season.

LAFC WILL WIN IF

They can remain focused on the task at hand before shifting their minds over to next week's Concacaf Champions League match. The Black & Gold have found ways to win games this season and will need to find a way to sneak away with points on the road. Colorado is always a difficult place to play, with the altitude having an affect on visiting teams. LAFC will look to lean on leading scorer Denis Bouanga and Captain Carlos Vela for an offensive spark.

COLORADO RAPIDS CAN WIN IF

They can feed off their home crowd and catch LAFC off guard. Offseason acquisition and Designated Player Kevin Cabral opened up his Rapids account with a late goal in Austin and will look to make an impact whether he is a starter or comes off the bench. Forward Michael Barrios remains dangerous anytime he has the ball at his feet.
