Dr. Brian Coffey

As a part of our first home match of the season and in alignment with our Heart of Gold jersey, LAFC has chosen to honor a local school principal from Beulah Payne P-8 STEAM Academy. Educators have been a played a vital role during the pandemic. Dr. Coffey has brought programs and opportunities to his students to keep them engaged during a time of virtual learning. We honor him and other principals and educators.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice – LA

Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles (Advancing Justice - LA) is the nation’s largest legal and civil rights organization for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (NHPI). Founded in 1983 as the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, Advancing Justice - LA serves more than 15,000 individuals and organizations every year. Through direct services, impact litigation, policy advocacy, leadership development, and capacity building, Advancing Justice - LA focuses on the most vulnerable members of Asian American and NHPI communities while also building a strong voice for civil rights and social justice. Advancing Justice - LA is based in downtown Los Angeles, with satellite offices in Orange County and Sacramento.

Football for Her

Football For Her wants to give all girls the opportunity to get football (soccer) training and mentorship from professional female players and sport specialists, regardless of where they live and what they look like. We want to create awareness about the opportunities out there for players whether their goal is to play professionally or not. We want to keep girls active and help guide and prepare those who aspire to take the sport to the collegiate and professional level.

ThinkWatts Foundation is a 501c3 organization founded by Brandon “Stix”; Salaam-Bailey, with a primary focus on community grassroots activations along with developing financial literacy programs, custom container housing solutions, and charitable fundraising through entertainment industry efforts.

Trans Wellness Center

The Trans Wellness Center (TWC) provides comprehensive resources and services for transgender and non-binary people under one roof. The 3,000-square-foot center is the first-of-its-kind in the United States, with six local organizations joining forces to create this new home for wellness. The TWC was conceived and created by community leaders and allies, honoring their lifelong dedication to raise awareness about the needs and the contributions of the transgender community

The Wall Las Memorias

The Wall Las Memorias (TWLM) is a community health and wellness organization dedicated to serving Latino, LGBTQ and other under-served populations through advocacy, education and building the next generation of leadership. The Wall Las Memorias serves low-income and hard-to-reach communities throughout Los Angeles educating community members on the importance of HIV and AIDS, substance abuse prevention, mental health stigma reduction for LGBTQI2-S transitional-aged youth (TAY), transgender women health and wellness, non-binary health and wellness, and community building in the marginalized communities. For more than 26 years, the organization has helped eradicate stigma and bigotry, and created a safer place in our communities for dialogue, community building, education and prevention services for this devastating epidemic using its AIDS Monument as a catalyst for social change. The Wall Las Memorias has made it their mission to provide access to specialized services designed to prevent disease and to promote societal wellness; guarantee that individual voices of the community are heard and that all are in agreement on the essential need for social change; promote the use of The Wall Las Memorias AIDS Monument as an acknowledged catalyst for change and action; and engage the LGBTQ and faith communities, making both entities full partners in promoting wellness and eliminating stigma among all people.

The Covenant House is guided by a mission to serve youth with absolute respect and unconditional love... to help kids who are suffering... and to protect and safeguard all children in need. In support of our mission, Covenant House is guided by five principles: Immediacy, Sanctuary, Value communication, Structure and Choice.

The Dream Center serves as a resource center focused on providing support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, and the lack of education through residential and community outreach programs.

John Adams Middle School

John Adams Middle School focuses on developing and preparing all students for the 21st century. The school works to form a bridge between school, home, and community to support all students in reaching their maximum potential in a safe and stimulating environment.

Matt Lenehan

Through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, the American Red Cross aspires to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope, our communities are ready and prepared for disasters, everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products, all members of our armed services and their families find support and comfort whenever needed and an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives. 

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, LAFC has partnered with the Red Cross to host several blood drives at Banc of California Stadium. Operations Manager Matt Lenehan was pivotal in supporting the drives.

I Have A Dream Foundation – Los Angeles

The "I Have A Dream" Foundation - Los Angeles' vision is for all children to have access to quality education, the opportunity to earn a college degree, and to fully capitalize on their talents and aspirations and fulfill their most ambitious dreams and career goals. The Los Angeles affiliate provides long-term support to youth living in under-resourced communities to empower them to achieve their full potential. They currently serve 350+ youth across 20 programs from the under-served communities of Boyle Heights, Watts & Inglewood.

Childhood Cancer Foundation Of Southern California

Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California is committed to serving children with cancer and their families throughout Southern California emotionally, socially, educationally and with emergency assistance. They are committed to providing support services to families so that they feel less isolated, frustrated and fearful in dealing with the problems that cancer can manifest within the family structure. Support begins at the moment of diagnosis and remains available through every stage of treatment and beyond.

Wendy Guardado

As a community leader, Wendy Guardado’s efforts have been able to increase the types of services and resources for street vendors through individual donations, small business grants, volunteer work, increased access to capital, and corporate partnerships. She continues to dedicate her free time to helping the underserved, with a goal to help raise their voices.
