Catch your breath after that one. The final match in LAFC's six-match road trip to start the season had everything.
Here's a look at the takeaways from LAFC's 5-3 victory in Montreal:
Le Général Makes A Triumphant Return To Montreal
Laurent Ciman returned to Montreal. And he made his presence felt early.
That's an absolute screamer from Ciman. He was burying those in training before this match, so the General must have been fired up for his return.
Lapses In Concentration
It wasn't all good for LAFC in this match. Montreal rushed out to a 2-0 lead, taking advantage of lax defending from LAFC in the midfield and at the back.
At 2-0, LAFC had a positive response through Ciman's free kick, but after Marco Ureña had his penalty saved, LAFC dropped off once again. Walker Zimmerman and Ciman failed to deal with Ignacio Piatti's run through the center of the pitch, and despite being up a man, LAFC found themselves down 3-1 at half.
It was unfortunate, because for long spells, the Black & Gold controlled the match. The dip in and out of focus in the first half will cause Bob Bradley some concern.
Watch That Man
Piatti was a one-man band for Montreal. The Argentine notched a first-half hat trick, bringing his MLS goal total to 51 in just over four seasons with the Impact.
He remained dangerous even as LAFC mounted a comeback - and I'd bet his chip that hit the crossbar late in the second half was on purpose. Any other day, it would have been a Man of the Match performance.
Completing The Comeback
Down 3-1 at half, Bradley brought on Latif Blessing, and LAFC immediately went on the offensive.
Blessing was in the mix on nearly all of LAFC's four unanswered goals. His direct style created pockets of space for Carlos Vela, and the Ghanian got in on the scoring with LAFC's fifth.
Omar Gaber and Eduard Atuesta also exerted pressure on the Impact after coming on.
Bradley got all three of his substitutions in the match spot on.
Epic Road Start
In MLS history, eight teams have started the season on a road trip of six matches or more. LAFC's 12 points on the road are the most of any of those teams. Only the 1999 Columbus Crew and 2016 Toronto FC teams come close with 11 points, but they did it in seven and eight games respectively.
Now it's back to Banc of California for a historic home opener on April 29.
